How Far Up There Is It?

It's all the way up.

Lisbon is well known for its hills. Seven of them specifically but I am pretty sure there are more than that. Our little rental unit is up one of them, but I wouldn't say it's all the way up, but it felt that way. Especially since we (I) had been carrying all of our bags since 10am at the airport with check in time at 2pm. And of course Linda feels it too.

Up to the right

Up some more

Still up

Looking down.

But eventually we got there and it's a nice little space and on the street level. Only about 200 square feet but it has everything we need. Actually not quite; I brought the corkscrew.

Before getting here, we bought transit cards and used the subway to get us to Time Out Market which is a very impressive venue. A bit of octopus salad with bread and olive...and a beer...was all lovely.

After checking in we found a grocery store. We always try to economize a bit when we travel by doing some of our own cooking.

We also found some cool shops selling cork goods, locally and ethically made hemp and cotton clothing and footwear, vintage stuff and specialty food. Me, being dumb, forgot to bring a pair of shorts and it's pretty warm (mid to upper 20s) so I bought a pair from these guys.

And we got in a bit of sightseeing. It's a tremendously photogenic city.

The day isn't over, but it is 6pm and we're both pretty tired. Actually I think Linda is tired but I don't want to wake her up to ask if she is tired is a good idea.
